What is our aim?

Makesenseofcards.co.uk is The Community Site for UK Credit Card Users - friendly, trustworthy and totally independent.

The owners of this website are credit card users just like you and we believe that sharing knowledge and experience is the best way for all of us to ensure that we are making the best use of our cards. This is why discussion forums are central to the site. It is community-led, not shareholder-led nor personality-led like other personal finance sites.

Our aim is to be the online one-stop-shop for any information on credit cards: the place you come to in order to get up to date and unbiased information. You can be sure that all our credit card tables are ranked based on the features of the individual credit cards themselves and not influenced by any fees or advertising. Although you may not be aware of it, many financial websites' "Best Buy" tables show the products which pay them the greatest fee more prominently.

Makesenseofcards is, and will always be, free to use. Above all it will be friendly, trustworthy and totally independent.

Who owns the site?

Makesenseofcards.co.uk is run by Stooz and Clariman who have over 40 years of credit card experience between them. They have each been participating actively in personal finance discussion forums for over 7 years and have amassed a wealth of experience and knowledge. You may have heard of a money-making credit card technique called Stoozing. As you may have guessed, it was named after site-owner Stooz. When Clariman wrote the first ever Stoozing FAQ on the Internet, they decided to get together and build The Official Stoozing Website in order to share their knowledge and experience. The independent nature of the Official Stoozing Website, together with the wealth of resources it provided and the friendly nature of its discussion forums has proved a great hit. This has prompted the team to share their knowledge in a general purpose credit card website: makesenseofcards.co.uk

How is the site funded?

The initial development of the site has been entirely funded by Stooz and Clariman. You will notice that our credit card tables allow you to Apply for cards directly from the tables. Some of these application links pay a fee to the website which enables us to cover our costs. However, cards are ranked purely based on their features, not on whether they pay the site money or not.
